Stay warm through the cooler months at Mookaroo-k Goomburrup, Bunbury’s new winter festival running from June to August. Inspired by the Noongar season of Makuru/Mookaroo and the cultural significance of Goomburrup to the Wadandi Noongar people, the festival brings the community together through fireside gatherings, family-friendly events, storytelling, food, and winter experiences that celebrate the beauty of the season.
The City of Bunbury is proud to support NAIDOC Week 2026, marking the 50th anniversary of this important national celebration from 5–12 July. The community is encouraged to come together to recognise and celebrate the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A highlight of the week is Shine Together on 5 July at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, where Creative Tech Village and Yaka Dandjoo will officially open NAIDOC Week 2026 with a vibrant community celebration.
