Seasons turn like pages in a well-loved book, as you move to the slow rhythm of life. Spring wakes the hills to soft greensand a blush of wildflowers, while summer lingers in golden light, warming orchards and winding lanes.
Autumn arrives in a flash of leafy embers – scarlet, russet, and gold – all flickering across the ground each time the wind comes calling. Then winter wraps the valley in silver mist and stillness. Along the main street cosy stores brim with pottery, natural skincare, and locally-made art. Life is unhurried here, time measured not in minutes but in the colours of the day.
A quaint town known for its charm, locally handcrafted pottery, herbal skincare products, arts and crafts, annual open gardens and festivals, visitors to Balingup will be greeted by its friendly scarecrows, all outfitted differently throughout the year according to the next regional festival.
Golden Valley Tree Park
The beautiful Golden Valley Tree Park is also a must see destination and a beautiful place for a walk. A sixty hectare landscaped park set in the picturesque hills of Balingup. One of the quirkiest is the Balingup Medieval Carnivale, held in August every year. Everyone is encouraged to dress in medieval-themed costume to enhance the experience. Each year the festival kicks off with a gluttonous feast and then continues with music, dance, a parade and games, all in medieval style. Check out the current updates here.
