This region has a characteristically cool climate with slow ripening times which enables the development of rich flavours and quality grape juice. Wine tasting begins at Gilbert Wines, home to the ‘lads’ and is followed by a morning tea/coffee, scone, jam and cream. At Plantagenet Wines meet Barbie Q. Choose your wine and make your purchase to accompany a scrumptious shared platter lunch of local produce; dining with Barbie Q. Onwards the tour will take you to Galafrey Wines another family-owned winery and home to prominent female wine-maker Kim Tyrer.
From there to West Cape Howe where you can sample wine from their extensive range, olive oil or their own brand of coffee!
