Albany International Folk’n’Shanty Festival

Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival is painting the town tartan with a Scottish theme for 2025! From traditional and contemporary music to blistering sessions and wild ceilidhs (dances), Albany transforms into a vibrant hub of Scottish culture, all woven into its celebrated program of folk and shanty music.

But that’s just the beginning. From fireside folk sessions and intimate concerts to full-blown pub shanty singalongs, and tales of pirates, whales, and shipwrecks, the festival turns the city’s historic heart into a playground of maritime culture.

Set on the shores of the majestic Mamang Koort (Heart of the Whale), this annual event celebrates the soul of Albany (Kinjarling) and invites everyone to join the raucous, heartfelt festivities.

So, dust off those kilts and get ready for an unforgettable celebration of all things Scottish and sea-soaked!
