A Community Celebration 160 Years in the Making
The Busselton Jetty 160th Anniversary is a once-in-a-generation community event taking place on Saturday, 4 October 2025 at the Busselton Foreshore. As Western Australia’s most iconic jetty turns 160, locals and visitors are invited to join a free day of entertainment, heritage stories, and family fun by the bay.
For 160 years, the Jetty has been more than just a jetty – it has been the heart of Busselton. Built in 1865, saved by community spirit, and still thriving today, it connects people, history, and the ocean. This milestone is not only a chance to reflect on the past but also to celebrate the future of this much-loved landmark.
Visitors can enjoy a classic community sausage sizzle, free face painting for kids of all ages, and share in the sweetness of a special Jetty Birthday Cake celebrating 160 years. The Marine Discovery Centre will open its doors from 3pm, offering free entry and a special viewing of the Busselton Jetty Documentary.
Entertainment will fill the Foreshore all afternoon, showcasing the best of Busselton’s local talent. The Busselton City Band will kick off the celebration with music for all ages, followed by an energetic performance from Scott P. Families can enjoy the 3-Women Pirate Show, Sail Away, and Acting Up Theatre will present a snippet of “The Jetty That Nearly Wasn’t”, a moving story of the Jetty’s history. The day will conclude with the sea shanty singers, bringing songs of the sea to round out this unforgettable community celebration.
