There’s nothing quite like hitting the road with your friends and family en-route to your next holiday destination in Australia’s South West. Let’s face it, we all love a break and our region has some of the best opportunities to getaway for some serious down-time; something we all need now more than ever.
West Aussies will know that getting to the South West from Perth, you head south towards Bunbury on the Forrest Highway. Depending on your destination, it can be a 2hr + road trip, so it’s important to plan regular breaks from driving to rest, stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
And there’s no better excuse to take a pit-stop than to pick up delicious food on the way and really get you in the holiday mood – because let’s be honest, the road trip food-stop is half the fun!
On your way to the South West, you’ll notice two new Caltex services on the Forrest Highway, with a Miami Bakehouse on both sides. One Southbound and the other Northbound– so you can enjoy your favourite treats on your way south AND on your way home. Both locations have wide-open dining spaces inside and outside plus outdoor picnic tables, as well as dedicated dog-rest areas and caravan parking.
But the most exciting of all is the new Miami Bakehouse location in Myalup, just 30 minutes from Bunbury. This brand new purpose-built rest stop is reminiscent of the old Miami Bakehouse pit-stop on the Forrest Highway and has plenty of outdoor picnic tables, kids play areas, toilet and baby changing facilities, caravan and trailer parking, as well as a dog rest to make the stop easy and accessible for all. There’s also a drive-thru, so you can grab food on-the-go if your itinerary is tight.
However if you are looking for somewhere to stop for lunch and take your time, there is a fantastic grassed picnic area amongst the KangaART installation, making it the perfect place to stretch your legs and fuel up on some yummy fresh salads, award-winning pies and delicious baked treats for your road trip getaway.
So now that you’ve got the Miami Bakehouse cafe locations in your itinerary here are six reasons you should stop at a Miami Bakehouse on your next South West road trip!
