Balingup Small Farm Field Day

See the best in sustainable small scale farming practices and cottage industries. The Balingup Small Farm Field Day showcases many aspects of small farming. This includes caring for the land and animals, growing trees and food, cooking with fresh local ingredients and creating fashion and crafts with natural products.

The day concentrates on the activities of small farms with sections on livestock suitable for small holdings, small scale machinery and equipment, horticulture, gourmet foods from local products, local arts and crafts and a limited number of market stalls featuring predominantly local produce.

Talks on composting, solar energy, bee keeping basics and biosecurity, a panel of local organic farmers answering questions about healthy food and healthy soils.

Local artists will be playing music and there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained – camel rides, animal petting, face painting, climbing tower and sand pit.
