Plantagenet Wines Cellar Door & Cafe
Since 1968, Plantagenet has been proudly family-owned, rooted deeply in the heart of the Great Southern.

In 1975, an apple packing shed in Mount Barker was transformed into the region’s first winery and cellar door, a welcoming stop along Albany Highway where visitors can taste the essence of this unique land every day.

The Great Southern, Western Australia’s largest wine region, stretches across breathtaking landscapes of rugged forests, mountain ranges, and fertile pastures. Towns like Mount Barker carry a rich farming heritage that shapes every bottle crafted here.

Chief Winemaker Mike Garland brings decades of passion and expertise, creating award-winning wines that celebrate the region’s distinct character and potential.

With a cool-temperate climate kissed by the Southern Ocean, warm days and cool, sea-breezed nights preserve the vibrant flavors and aromas that define Great Southern wines.

Plantagenet’s vision is clear, to craft wines of true provenance and distinction that invite you to dream deeper into the story of this extraordinary region.
