The biggest art event of its kind in Australia, showcasing the vibrant visual arts scene of the region.
The biggest art event of its kind in Australia, showcasing the vibrant visual arts scene of the region.
More than 150 artists will open their studio doors across Australia’s South West this September for Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS), running 12–27 September 2026.
Spanning Busselton to Augusta, this much-loved, self-drive event invites visitors to meet artists, see works in progress and experience the region through creativity – often in unforgettable studio settings like converted barns, sea containers, railway carriages and artists’ home studios.
Whether you’re a serious collector or simply curious, MRROS is a brilliant way to explore the Margaret River Region at your own pace, discovering everything from emerging talent to established names across painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, textiles, glass and more.
Plan your Open Studios road trip
- Browse artists, build your itinerary and check opening times on the official website.
- Most studios open during the day (often 10am–4pm), but times vary by artist, so it’s best to confirm before you go.
- An A3 Event Guide is released closer to the event (with pick-up locations announced nearer the date) and is also available online.
With thousands of studio visits made during the event period each year, Open Studios transforms the region into a true art playground – perfect to pair with local food, wine and coastal scenery.
