A Putt Above The Rest: Par 3’s Exciting Golfing Experience

Whether you need practice with your putting, want to chip away at your swing with your mates, or are looking for a fun night out with the family, Par 3 in Busselton is the place for golfing fun in Busselton.

A sanctuary of green nestled between residential neighbourhoods, the venue features a 9 holes for golf, a putting green, 18-hole mini golf course, onsite bar, kitchen, cafe, and playground.

Wander the grounds, drink in hand, tacking in the beautiful natural surrounds. Who knows – you might even spot the rare orchid that makes this place a sanctuary. Leave having tested your mettle against the mini-golf water hazards, tricky sand bunkers, and worst yet… your patience when it takes you seven shots to sink it.

Where You’ll Find Par 3

This trendy spot sits a hop, skip and a jump from the bustling town of Busselton at 1 Spinifex Court. If you’re heading down the Busselton Bypass Road, turn right at Fairway Drive and you’ll spot it a few hundred metres down the road on your left. For those coming from the Bussell Highway direction, turn left into Fairway drive, and it will be the first right after Settler’s Gate Road.

Although it backs up against housing areas, you’d hardly know it – with wildlife like kangaroos and blue tongue lizards roaming the greens and large peppermint trees surrounding you on all sides. It’s hard not to feel like you’re in a secluded paradise.

What You Can Do At Par 3

Mini Golf

Think you’re a golfing expert? Think again. Par 3 boasts 18 world-class fairways, split into two different difficulties. One is called ‘Challenging’, and the other… well that’s ‘Outrageous’.

The owners took care when creating the course to ensure that they built it into the existing landscape, meaning existing trees and habitats could remain for wildlife. This does make it slightly tricky though – with one tree causing quite the challenge! Pro tip: It’s okay to lean on it for some support, both moral and physical.

Golf

Whether you want to practice your swing alone or enjoy a social competition with your friends, the nine holes golf course at Par 3 is ideal. In the morning you might find yourself teeing off with an audience of kangaroos, but come afternoon the final round will see you finishing up with the orange glow of a perfect South West sunset.

Make a whole experience out of it with the glorious ‘Sip and Swing’ beer caddy service, where cold pours are delivered straight to the tee box to help keep you refreshed. There’s even an option for a VIP Private beer caddy, where the staff trail your crew with an esky stocked full of your favourite sips!

Events and Live Music

Sit back and relax to the sounds of live music each Sunday, with a rotating list of musicians playing between 4pm and 7pm. While you enjoy a wine or beer, the kids can run amok at the nature playground on site.

March is true competition time at Par 3, with Barefoot Mini Golf – a series of Friday competitions to decide the title of Busselton’s Best minigolfer.

While Easter Sunday they also host the ticketed Easter Egg Hunt, with little helpers asked to scour the course for some delicious chocolate treats.

Food and Beverages

Can you smell that? It’s the sweet scent of barista made coffee and banana bread, drifting through the old A-frame that now houses the kitchen, bar, and cafe.

Up front you’ll see cakes and treats for an afternoon snack. Think caramel slices as good as your nana’s, delicious gluten free chocolate brownies, and cookies for the kids. Looking for something more substantial for those hangry teens? There’s hot food too, from toasties to nachos, three different types of tacos, and the pièce de résistance – loaded fries.

For the adults, head inside where you’ll find Shelter beers on tap, frozen cocktails, local wines from Capel Vale, Xanadu, and Swings and Roundabouts, as well as a selection of spirits. As a fully licenced venue – you can even take your drinks with you as you meander round the mini golf course. If it doesn’t help the putting – at least you won’t care as you sip on a refreshing summer spritz.
