WALK THE JETTY

Embark on a journey of discovery at Busselton Jetty, where every visit turns into a treasured memory. Take a leisurely stroll along the 1.841km stretch of the Southern Hemisphere’s longest timber-piled jetty, and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark, built in 1865. From its beginnings as a bustling port exporting timber worldwide to surviving cyclones and fires, Busselton Jetty stands today thanks to the dedication of our vibrant community. We continue to be able to maintain our amazing Jetty through ticket sales for admission. When you walk the Jetty, you can do so knowing that you’ve helped us ensure its here for future generations. 

RIDE THE JETTY TRAIN

Begin your journey aboard our solar-powered Ray White Stocker Preston Express, our charming red Jetty Train that whisks you 1.7 km across the sparkling waters while you listen to the history of our Jetty and the Geographe Bay. Round trip journeys take 45 minutes. Our train is accessible for those with wheelchairs or walkers, we just ask that you advise us of this when booking. It’s an exceptional way to fully immerse yourself in the surrounding beauty. With hourly departures, this is an adventure you won’t want to miss.

EXPLORE THE UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY 

Explore the Underwater Observatory without getting wet. Descend 8 metres to the ocean floor via a spiral staircase and step into the awe-inspiring Underwater Observatory. Marvel at the vibrant forest of tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish, and invertebrates. With eleven viewing windows at various levels, you’ll have a front-row seat to the bustling marine life that thrives beneath the jetty. Accessibility is a priority for those with mobility limitations, and a lift ensures everyone can enjoy this mesmerising underwater world.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN OUR MARINE DISCOVERY CENTRE 

Step into the Marine Discovery Centre at Busselton Jetty and embark on an interactive journey through Australia’s incredible Marine Parks. A world-first experience, allowing visitors to engage with the underwater world like never before. Dive into immersive exhibits featuring touch screens and interactive displays that bring the marine environment to life. Learn about the diverse ecosystems that thrive beneath the surface, the conservation efforts protecting them, and the unique species that call these waters home. The Marine Discovery Centre is a captivating blend of education and adventure, perfect for all ages. 

DIVE INTO THE UNDERWATER SCULPTURE PARK

Ready for an underwater adventure? Dive into the Underwater Sculpture Park, where 13 stunning sculptures by Western Australian artists create a magical, ever-evolving marine habitat. This enchanting underwater gallery is part of the largest Artificial Reef in the country, located at the end of the Jetty within the Marine Sanctuary zone. Home to over 300 species of fish, sponges, and soft corals, the Sculpture Park is a vibrant forest of marine life waiting to be explored.

Bring your own dive or snorkel equipment, book online, sign your waiver, and get ready to discover this awe-inspiring underwater world. A map of the Underwater Sculpture Park, shows all sculpture locations, marine life, and safety information. Waterproof copies of the map can be purchased from the Interpretive Centre, helping you navigate the sculptures scattered over a 200m area.

Accessibility Options

All of our experiences are wheelchair friendly, however we ask you to advise our staff upon booking please. Some of the larger motorised wheelchairs/mobility scooters may be unable to ride the train or enter the observatory. We can accommodate for many requests given adequate notice. Please call and talk to our friendly staff should you have any questions or concerns.

Hours

Interpretive Centre / Gift Shop Winter – 9.30am-4.15pm Summer – 8.30am-5.15pm Underwater Observatory and Jetty Train operate daily on the hour during open times. Bookings essential. All hours are approximate only and subject to change due to weather, wind and ocean conditions, especially in Winter.

Check In / Check Out

Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your allocated tour or train time. We need to be able to check you in and ensure you board the train with ample time. If you miss your train, we cannot rebook you to the next time.
