Lake Cave is one of the most unique sites, being the most actively ‘dripping’ cave, with a pristine chamber, and a permanent underground lake. Inside the cave, the tranquil lake mirrors the delicate crystal formations suspended above, as droplets from the stalactites fall to create dancing ripples on the water. It’s a magical experience and a dazzling visual display of some of nature’s finest work.
To get into the cave, you’ll first descend a staircase through an ancient sinkhole (known as a doline) and into a sunken forest to reach this magnificent chamber. Only then can you witness the one of the cave’s most iconic attractions, the rare ‘suspended table’ formation, a one-of-a-kind structure that hovers seemingly precariously above the lake.
One-hour guided tours take you into a pristine chamber beneath the karri forest. Your guide uses lighting to highlight various features within the cave while sharing interesting facts and stories.
Fully guided tours are available from 9am – 5pm. For information about site accessibility, view the Access Guide here.
